In-Product Billing

Overview

In-Product Billing is a Billing page in Eve that gives Firm Admins visibility into their firm's subscription, matter usage, and invoices. It shows how many matters have been created against the contract, how many remain, the contract dates, and stored invoices with their payment status—and it alerts admins as the firm approaches its contracted matter limit so they can plan ahead with Customer Success.

How It Works

Only Firm Admins can access the Billing page, and only Firm Admins receive utilization notifications.

The Billing page shows your firm's subscription details:

  • Matters created — total matters created under the contract (Open and Closed)

  • Matters remaining — how many matters are left under the current contract

  • Matter breakdown — select the matter creation bar to see Open vs. Closed counts

  • Contract dates — the contract's start and end dates

  • Time remaining — days left in the current term

Matter count: a matter counts toward your contract once it's Open or Closed; deleted matters don't count. Firms can't delete matters themselves, but Customer Success can delete a matter when appropriate, which removes it from the count.

Invoices: each invoice shows the date issued, its status (Paid, Pending, or Unpaid), and the amount, and opens with View Invoice. Invoices are available on the Billing page for all accounts, and payments aren't processed in Eve—automatic payment is set up through your finance team.

Utilization notifications: in-product banners alert Firm Admins as usage reaches 80%, 95%, and 100% of the contracted matter count; selecting "See more" opens the Billing page. They help firms avoid overage fees, which are governed by your Eve contract.

Usage Dashboard: when subscription details are enabled, the Billing page links to the Usage Dashboard for a deeper view of matter creation and activity.
