Overview

Notes record case context inside a matter. Tasks track follow-up work with an owner and a due date. Both live in the matter Activity feed alongside the rest of a matter's case activity.

Notes

A note captures something that does not live in a document: a client update, a strategy decision, a takeaway from a call.

Once added, a note becomes part of the matter context Eve reads. That is the part worth knowing, because it means a note is not just a record for colleagues. A correction written as a note is a correction Eve will use when answering a question or drafting.

Tasks

A task is follow-up work assigned on a matter, carrying an assignee and a due date, tracked from the Activity feed until it is complete.

My Tasks gathers the open tasks assigned to you from every matter into one view, so follow-up stays visible without opening each case. The same tasks also appear in the Activity feed of the matter they belong to.

Two Things Called Tasks

A task here is a to-do a person owns. An Eve agent task is a long-running job Eve runs and reports on. They appear in different places and mean different things, which is worth flagging when training a team on both.

What Notes & Tasks Does Not Do

• It does not replace a case management system. It captures context and follow-up inside Eve, and the case management system stays the system of record.

• It does not sync anywhere. A task assigned here does not appear in the connected case management system.
