When a Medical Overview Runs

Overview
A Medical Overview is the structured read Eve builds from medical documents: a treatment timeline, the providers and encounters in it, bills linked to visits, and the economic damages ledger.
It starts in three ways. Eve runs the first one automatically on an eligible matter, an alert prompts for a re-run when new records arrive, and it can be run by hand at any point.
The First Run Happens on Its Own
After documents are uploaded and classified, Eve checks two conditions:
The matter contains valid medical records or medical bills.
No Medical Overview has been run on the matter before.
When both are true, the first Medical Overview starts in the background with no one asking for it. It extracts providers, treatments, dates of care, and diagnoses, and structures them.
The run uses the same processing as a manual one and takes a comparable amount of time, scaling with document volume. Work elsewhere in Eve continues uninterrupted while it runs, and a progress indicator shows its status.
The Alert Prompts a Re-Run
The Medical Overview alert appears on the matter details page when either:
No Medical Overview has been run on the matter, or
Medical documents were uploaded after the most recent Medical Overview finished.
It stays visible until an overview is run or re-run covering the new documents. Selecting the control in the alert starts setup, including choosing which documents to include. A loading indicator and status updates run for the duration.
The alert returns every time more records arrive, which is what keeps the chronology, the provider list, and the damages figures current rather than frozen at whatever was uploaded first.
Running It by Hand
A Medical Overview can be run manually at any time, including on a matter that already had one run automatically. Nothing about the automatic run blocks or replaces a manual one.
Previous versions remain available, so an overview can be compared against the one before it rather than simply overwritten.
When Nothing Happens
No medical documents in the matter. There is nothing to build an overview from, so no run starts and no alert appears.
An overview already exists. The automatic first run fires once. After that, re-running is prompted by the alert or done by hand.
Documents were uploaded but not classified as medical. Classification decides eligibility, so a medical record misfiled as something else will not trigger anything.
