Editing the Visits Timeline

Overview

The visits timeline in a Medical Overview is editable. Any field on a visit can be corrected, visits the records missed can be added, and visits that are not relevant can be excluded.

Edits flow through the rest of the case: chat, drafted documents, the treatment calendar, and DOCX exports all use the edited values.

What Can Be Edited

  • Dates

  • Provider

  • Practitioner

  • Visit category

  • Summary

  • Complaints and limitations

  • Exam findings

  • Treatments during the visit

  • Recommended treatment plan

Excluding a Visit

An excluded visit stays visible, crossed out, and drops out of case knowledge, the treatment calendar, and exports until it is re-included. It is not deleted.

Tracking Who Changed What

An edited visit shows the editor's initials next to the visit category. Opening that change log shows what changed, when, and by whom, and any previous version can be restored.

Editing a visit keeps its original source link and adds an indicator that the record was modified by hand, naming who did it. A visit added manually has no source documents, so its references section is empty.

How Edits Survive a Re-Run

When new documents arrive and the Medical Overview regenerates, edits are matched and preserved. A correction made once does not have to be made again after every re-run.

Visits added by hand feed missing bill and record detection the same way extracted ones do, so a visit you added can still be flagged for having no corresponding bill. See 📄 Medical Overview Missing Records Flags.

What Editing Does Not Do

  • It does not change the source document. The record stays as it was; the timeline entry is what changes.

  • An excluded visit is not deleted. It stays on the timeline, crossed out.

  • A manually added visit carries no citation. Its references section is empty, which is expected rather than a fault.
