Agent Activity, Notifications, and Output

Overview

Activity is the record of what happened on a matter. Notifications are alerts sent to one person. They are different things and they behave differently.

Activity is matter-specific and visible to everyone with access to that matter. A notification is user-specific: marking one read clears it for that person only, and it stays unread for everyone else.

Where Activity Lives

  • Cross-matter activity, under Activity in the sidebar below Matters. Everything across every matter in the firm, filterable by All Activity, Auto-Agent, or User Session.

  • Matter activity, inside a matter under Activity, below Case Knowledge. Everything for that one case, including past chat sessions.

  • The homepage, under Home in the sidebar, which surfaces important auto agent activity. View all opens the cross-matter page on its Auto Agent tab.

Activity covers two kinds of event: work an auto agent started when its trigger conditions were met, and work a person started, including manually run agents and chat sessions.

What Counts as Important

Eve marks some auto agent output important and surfaces it ahead of the rest. Important items show a teal description, and Show important only filters the cross-matter page down to them.

An output is marked important when it produced one of four things:

  • Work product needing review, such as a drafted letter, extracted case data, or a structured summary.

  • A problem or a risk, such as an overdue record request, missing documents, a stalled follow-up, or a gap that could affect the case.

  • A contradiction in the case data, such as a client listed as still employed while a termination notice sits in the file.

  • Something time-sensitive, such as an approaching deadline or an expiring window.

A routine check that found nothing wrong stays quiet. Drafting auto agents are always marked important, because their output is always something a person has to look at.

What Triggers a Notification

  • A Medical Overview has updated and its re-run finished

  • A matter has been activated from Leads

  • A long-running task has completed, including any manually run drafting agent and any discovery response agent

Notifications appear under the bell at the top of every page and on the homepage. They carry a read state and an execution state of in progress, completed, or failed.

What Activity and Notifications Do Not Do

  • Importance is judged on auto agents only. An agent a person ran by hand is never marked important, because the person is already waiting for it.

  • A notification is not a shared to-do. Clearing one does not clear it for colleagues, and nobody else sees that it was actioned.

  • Quiet does not mean nothing ran. An auto agent that checked and found nothing produces activity without a notification.
