Overview

Eve Scribe is a desktop application that records a call on the computer running it, transcribes it, and sends the transcript to a lead or matter in Eve.

It is installed on the individual computer rather than enabled in Eve, so it captures calls placed through any phone system, softphone, or meeting tool that plays through that computer.

How It Works

What it records

Scribe captures two things at once: the computer's system audio output, which carries the other side of the call, and the system-defined microphone input, which carries your side.

It records what the computer plays and hears. It does not connect to a phone system, so nothing needs configuring on the phone side for Scribe to work.

Assigning the call

A call is assigned to a lead or matter before it ends. An existing record can be selected, or a new one created from Scribe. Assigning before the call ends is what determines where the transcript lands. A call that ends unassigned lives on the Calls page of Eve, waiting to be assigned to a lead or matter by your firm.

Sending to Eve

When the call ends, the transcript is sent to the assigned lead or matter, where it sits alongside the documents and becomes part of what Eve reads for that record.

Getting It Installed

Eve Scribe is distributed during onboarding. Eve provides the firm with a download link, and each person who will record calls installs it on their own computer. For more information, see

What Eve Scribe Does Not Do

  • It does not place calls. Scribe records a call someone else placed or answered. Outbound calling by Eve is a communication agent.

  • It only records the computer it is installed on. A call taken on a desk phone or a mobile, with nothing routed through the computer, is not captured.

  • It does not decide where a transcript goes. Assignment is a manual step during the call.
