How to Organize Sessions in Eve
Last updated: September 30, 2026
Overview
A session is a single working thread inside a matter. A matter can hold as many as you need, and past sessions stay available to you and to anyone the matter is shared with.
How work is split across sessions has a direct effect on output quality. Eve weighs everything in the current thread, so a thread carrying four unrelated tasks produces answers shaped by all four.
Break Work Into Small Tasks
Ask for one thing per message. A single prompt asking Eve to summarize the documents, identify the claims, add rebuttals and list evidence gaps returns all four at medium quality. The same four asked separately, each reviewed before the next, returns better work on every one.
Open a New Session per Task
Use a separate session for each distinct piece of work: one for the intake summary, another for discovery review, another for the demand. Start one from Talk to Eve on the matter page.
Reusing one long thread across unrelated tasks is the most common cause of answers that drift off what was asked.
Find Past Sessions
Click Activity in the matter.
Search by keyword to find a specific session.
Filter by Owner to see your own earlier work or a colleague's.
This is how you pick up where someone else left off without starting the analysis again.
