How to Upload Documents from a Connected DMS in Eve
Last updated: March 10, 2026
Overview
This article shows you how to select and sync documents from your firm's connected document management system into Eve. If your firm has integrated a DMS like Clio, GrowPath, NetDocs, SharePoint, Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox with Eve, you can pull files directly from those platforms into your matters without manual uploads.
Prerequisites
Your firm must have already set up an integration with one or more supported document management systems
You must have access credentials and permissions to the DMS you want to pull files from
The matter you're working in must be created in Eve
Step-by-Step Instructions
Access the DMS File Selection Interface — When creating or working in a matter, click the cloud upload button or the document selection area. If your firm has connected DMS integrations, you'll see options to select files from the linked platforms (Clio, GrowPath, NetDocs, SharePoint, Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox) in addition to manual upload. Choose the DMS you want to pull files from.
Select Files from Your Connected DMS — Browse the folder structure from your connected DMS and select the files you want to add to your matter. You can select individual files or entire folders. The interface will mirror the organization structure from your DMS, making it easy to locate the documents you need.
Confirm Your Selection — After selecting files, you'll see a confirmation screen showing which documents will be added to your matter. Review the list, remove any unwanted files, or add more if needed. Click confirm to complete the sync.
Access Synced Documents in Your Matter — Files from your integrated DMS will now appear in your matter's document list in the left panel and in the "Using Files" section of the chat bar. These documents sync automatically, so any updates made in your DMS will be reflected in Eve.
Manually Resync Files When Needed — If you've added or updated files in your DMS during the day and need Eve to reflect those changes immediately, click the resync button in your matter's document panel. This will refresh the file list and pull in any new or updated documents from your connected DMS.
