Overview

This article resolves the symptom where data imported from Clio appears out of date or unchanged in your Eve Matter. This occurs when you've made updates in Clio but those changes haven't yet appeared in Eve, typically because the automatic nightly sync hasn't run or you need the data updated during business hours.

Before You Start — Diagnosis

Confirm the following before attempting any fixes:

  • You have a Clio integration already established and authorized in Eve

  • The Matter you're viewing was imported from Clio (it displays the Clio connection icon)

  • The updates you're expecting were made in Clio, not in Eve (Eve does not push changes back to Clio)

  • You're checking the correct Matter in Eve that corresponds to the updated Matter in Clio

Fixes

Possible Cause: Automatic Nightly Sync Has Not Run Yet

Cause: Eve automatically syncs data from Clio to Eve every night. If you made changes in Clio during the day, those updates won't appear in Eve until the nightly sync completes.

Steps:

  1. Open the Matter in Eve where you need updated data

  2. Locate the re-sync button in the Matter header at the top of the page

  3. Click the re-sync button to manually trigger a sync from Clio to Eve

  4. Wait for the sync to complete (this typically takes a few moments)

Expected Outcome: The Matter data in Eve refreshes to match the current state in Clio, including updated Details, Contacts, Notes, and Clio Files.

Possible Cause: Matter Data Not Synced Before Starting Task

Cause: You began working on tasks in Eve without syncing the latest data from Clio first. This means you're working with outdated information even though current data exists in Clio.

Steps:

  1. Before beginning any tasks in the Matter, click the re-sync button in the Matter header

  2. Wait for the sync to complete

  3. Verify that the data now reflects your most recent Clio updates

  4. Proceed with your tasks using the refreshed data

Expected Outcome: You're working with the most current information from Clio, ensuring tasks and questions asked to Eve use up-to-date case details, contacts, notes, and files.
