Unable to Revert or Undo Ledger Edit in Medical Overview
Last updated: March 10, 2026
Overview
This article resolves the issue when you want to undo a ledger edit in a Medical Overview but cannot find a one-click revert button. Eve does not currently provide an automatic undo feature for ledger edits, but all previous values are preserved in the change log and you can manually restore them by editing the field again.
Before You Start — Diagnosis
Confirm the following before attempting to restore a previous value:
The row you edited shows an asterisk (*) next to the edited value
You can see a change log icon in the references column for that row
You have the necessary permissions to edit ledger data in this case
Fixes
Possible Cause: Looking for Automatic Undo Button That Does Not Exist
Cause: Eve does not currently have a one-click revert or undo button for ledger edits. All changes must be manually restored by editing the field again.
Steps:
Locate the row with the edit you want to revert — look for the asterisk (*) marker on edited values
Hover over the row to see the original value displayed alongside the new value
Click the change log icon in the references column to view the complete change history
Note the previous value you want to restore from the change log
Click the edit button (pencil icon) on that row
Manually enter the previous value into the field
Click the ✓ checkmark or press Enter to confirm
Expected Outcome: The field updates to the previous value. The row will still show as edited with an asterisk, and the change log will now include both the original edit and your restoration as separate entries.
Possible Cause: Multiple Users Edited the Same Field
Cause: If multiple team members have edited the same field, the change log will show multiple previous values with attribution showing who made each change and when.
Steps:
Click the change log icon in the references column for the edited row
Review the full change history to identify which previous value you want to restore
Note the specific value and the date/time it was active
Click the edit button (pencil icon) on that row
Manually enter the value you want to restore
Click the ✓ checkmark or press Enter to confirm
Expected Outcome: The field updates to your chosen previous value. All team members will see the restored value, and the change log will attribute the restoration to you with a new timestamp.
Possible Cause: Cannot Find Change Log for Recently Added Line Item
Cause: If you added a new payment or adjustment line item and want to remove it entirely, you need to exclude it rather than revert it, since newly added items do not have previous values to restore.
Steps:
Hover over the line item you added (it will have a blue background when first created)
Click the Exclude button (eye icon) that appears on the right
The line item will appear greyed out with an "Excluded" label
The ledger total will update automatically to remove this item from calculations
Expected Outcome: The added line item remains visible but excluded from totals. You can re-include it later by clicking the Include button (eye icon), or you can leave it excluded permanently. The item will remain in the ledger for transparency but will not affect damage calculations.Unable to Revert or Undo Ledger Edit in Medical Overview
