How to Enable Email Lead Capture in Eve

Last updated: September 20, 2026

Email lead capture turns emails sent to a dedicated Eve address into new leads automatically. Once it's on, your firm gets its own intake address, and anything sent there becomes a lead: website contact form notifications, referral partner emails, and inquiries forwarded by staff.

This address is only for new prospective clients. It's separate from matter email, which files case correspondence into a matter that already exists in Eve.

To enable it:

  1. Go to Settings → Intake.

  2. Find Email Lead Capture.

  3. Click Enable.

  4. Copy the generated intake address. It's built from your firm's name, along the lines of smith-associates@intake.eve.legal, and can't be changed. Your clients will never see this email address.

  5. When a new lead comes in, forward the email to this generated email address.

Many intake form options allow users to add this to their defaults. For example: using this email as the notification recipient on your website contact forms, your referral partners' distribution lists, or a forwarding rule on an existing intake inbox.

What happens when an email arrives

Eve creates a new lead from the email and runs it through the standard intake pipeline, so the lead arrives with contact details extracted, a case type identified, a score, and a lead overview already generated.

The email body lands on the lead, and any attachments are uploaded and indexed automatically. You'll find them under Files on the lead page.

Replies within the same email thread are grouped onto the original lead. A new, unrelated email from the same sender starts a separate lead.
