How to Set Up DocuSign for Voice AI Signing in Eve
Last updated: July 2, 2026
Overview
This article explains how a firm sets up a DocuSign account and connects it to Eve so the voice agent can send retainers during live intake calls. It covers choosing the right DocuSign plan, loading a retainer template, and authorizing the connection. Voice AI Signing is configured with the Eve Intake team during early preview, and DocuSign setup takes about 10 minutes if the firm is starting from scratch.
Prerequisites
The firm is enrolled in the Voice AI Signing early preview (set up with the Eve Intake team).
Signing rules defined with the Eve Intake team during onboarding.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Choose a DocuSign plan — Go to docusign.com and select the Standard plan. Business Pro also works, but Standard has everything Voice AI Signing needs.
Complete billing — Finish billing during signup. A free trial account will not work — account-level OAuth and template access require a paid plan. If the account still shows “Trial” right after billing, log out and back in to refresh.
(Optional) Add SMS delivery — If the firm wants retainers sent by text, add the Multi-channel delivery add-on under Admin → Plan and Billing. See “How to Enable SMS Retainer Delivery in DocuSign for Eve.”
Upload a retainer template — Under Templates → New → Create Template, upload at least one retainer template for the agent to send.
Authorize the connection in Eve — Have the DocuSign account admin log into Eve during the onboarding call and authorize (OAuth) the DocuSign connection. Once authorized, the agent can send that firm's templates during live calls.
