Quote Verification automatically validates any quote Eve provides by checking it against your uploaded documents, helping you quickly identify which quotes are accurately sourced.

Prerequisites

  • Eve must have provided a response that includes quoted text from your documents

  • Quotes must be at least 20 characters long (Quote Verification does not run on shorter quotes, as they can match too many potential sources)

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Review Quote Highlight Colors — When Eve includes a quote in a response, it will appear highlighted in green if it has been successfully verified against your documents.

  2. Interpret Green Highlights (Exact Match) — A green highlight means Eve successfully identified an exact match for the quote in one of your documents. Click on the green highlighted quote to jump directly to that location in the source document. Green quotes are reliable and confirm the quoted text is accurately sourced.

  3. Ask Eve to Include More Quotes — To maximize the benefit of Quote Verification, include instructions in your prompts such as "include quotes backing up your assertions" or "provide direct quotes for each key point." This generates more verified quotes in the response, and green-highlighted quotes will always direct you to the correct section of your documents.

  4. Click Source Bubbles to Verify Context — For any quote used to support critical facts or legal arguments, click the citation bubble next to the quote to review the full context in the source document. Even green-highlighted quotes should be reviewed in context to ensure the surrounding information is accurately represented.
