Before You Start — Diagnosis

Confirm the following before attempting any fixes:

  • You see a message in Eve indicating that a document has been downloaded

  • The document does not appear in your browser's downloads folder or downloads bar

  • You are using a browser with pop-up blocking enabled (most browsers block pop-ups by default)

  • The issue occurs consistently when attempting to download documents from Eve

Possible Cause: Browser Pop-Up Blocker Is Blocking Eve

Cause: Eve uses pop-up windows to initiate document downloads. If your browser's pop-up blocker is enabled or set too aggressively, it will block these pop-up windows, preventing the download from starting even though Eve displays a success message.

Steps: Allow pop-ups from Eve in your browser settings. For Google Chrome (recommended browser for Eve):

  1. Click on the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner of the Chrome window and select Settings

  2. In the left sidebar, click Privacy and security

  3. Under the "Privacy and security" section, click Site settings

  4. Scroll down to the "Content" section and click on Pop-ups and redirects

  5. Under the "Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects" section, click Add

  6. Enter the Eve legal site URL ("app.eve.legal") and save

For other browsers, locate the pop-up blocker settings in your browser's privacy or security settings and add app.eve.legal to the allowed sites list.

Expected Outcome: After allowing pop-ups from Eve, when you attempt to download a document, the download should start immediately and the document should appear in your browser's downloads folder or downloads bar.
